From this screen you may change the price of all the items assigned to the price group, add a new group and change the name of the group. A price group is used to link many items sold by the same vendor, all of which have the same price and cost. These items generally change price and cost at the same time.
Assigning items to a price group allows you to change the prices of all the items in the group simultaneously, thus saving time by not having to change prices and costs of each item individually. There may be up to 120 price groups. There is no limit for the number of items in each price group.
Price Change: This screen allows you to enter the price and cost change to all the items assigned to the group. Price and cost change is NOT the new price and cost, but the change in price and cost. So, if you want to change the price of all the items in a group, just enter the amount of the change. Depending on your changes, the group price/cost will be added to - or subtracted from - the previous amount. If you want to lower the price use the negative (-) symbol before entering the price group change amount.
Note: You do not have to use the plus (+) symbol to raise prices in a group. The plus symbol is assumed in Backroom for Windows.
New Group: A new price group is created; however, no items are assigned to this new group. The items must be manually linked. You may only have 200 price groups.
Edit Group: This screen allows you to change the name of the group. Changing the name of the group will not affect any items already assigned to that particular group. Thus, all items linked to the old group name will automatically be linked to the new group name.
